The VII International Festival of Puppet Theatres "Petrushka the Great"

12 - 16 september, 2014, Ekaterinburg


The festival "Petrushka the Great" is one of the most beloved and long-awaited theatrical events in Russia, it is held every two years.

The festival is aimed to reveal, support and promote the most interesting creative projects of puppet theaters, facilitate the further development of Russian theater, strengthen cooperation between theaters of Russia, CIS and foreign countries.

The guests from eight countries – Germany, France, Italy, Serbia, Poland, Czech Republic, Belarus and Kazakhstan – were taking part in the previous festivals.

The festival is competitive one and includes presentations of performances by participating theaters, discussion of performances, master classes, creative meetings with the masters of stage.

The festival theme in 2014 is "The Puppet theatre: the experience and the experiments".
